The One Championship strawweight roster has a new entry, as Lito Adiwang earned a contract with the promotion in the main event of One Warrior Series 7. “Thunder Kid” (9-2) clashed with Vietnamese fighter Anthony Do, and the Filipino bested his opponent via unanimous decision.
“From top to bottom, this is the most exciting card we have ever put together, and every athlete put it on the line,” said Rich Franklin, CEO of One Warrior Series. “Lito, the 10th One Championship contract winner, has had the toughest matchups since he joined One Warrior Series, and never disappointed with his performances. If you are in One Championship's strawweight division, take note of this guy because he’s coming to shake things up.”
Moreover, Adiwang received a “Warrior Bonus” for his impressive performance, as did Dave Bangguigui, Caitlin McEwan, Michael Walker and Anthony Do.
After making a name for himself in the regional promotions, The Team Lakay representative made his debut in One Warrior Series in 2018. His first appearance saw him score a highlight-reel knockout of Jose Manuel Huerta. He then stopped Alberto Correia in February. Adiwang is now riding a five-bout winning streak, with all but one of his victories inside the distance.
“Lito always put on the most exciting performances every time he stepped into the One Warrior Series ring,” stated Jonathan Fong, director of One Warrior Series. “In fact, he's even won a ‘Warrior Bonus’ in every appearance, which is a testament to his abilities. With Lito moving on to One Championship, no doubt the already stacked strawweight division will take notice of his power and explosiveness. Look for him to make an immediate impact as soon as he gets the call.”
